When root canal treatment is needed
When decay or injury reaches the nerve of a tooth, it becomes inflamed – causing pain, sensitivity to hot and cold, or swelling. Root canal treatment removes the inflamed tissue and saves a tooth that would otherwise need to be extracted.
Pain-free, under anaesthesia
The procedure is done under local anaesthetic and, for most patients, is no more uncomfortable than an ordinary filling.
